"Experience and embrace yourself with the divine cultural heritage."
‘Lights on Van Eyck’ has become the perfect alternative for the year of ‘Van Eyck’. The Covid-19 event has returned the masterpieces of our greatest Flemish artist to its owners. It wouldn’t be Ghent if they hadn’t come up with a suitable alternative.
Light parades were introduced nearly a decade ago. Many visitors from across Europe were fascinated by the incorporation of the city’s architectural wealth and the art of light. Artists have used the setting of one of three famous churches where you can immerse yourself within a digital and musical spectacle. This event runs from june 2020 until june 2021.
It’s a spectacle that involves all your senses, emotions are allowed. The greatest Flemish master tour doesn’t stop right at the doors of the Saint-Nicolas church as the Department of Tourism mapped out a complete tour across the historical center.
